Point Defiance Zoo Lights - Tacoma

Last week, Daniel and I decided to visit the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, WA to take a look at their yearly Christmas light display. We have heard many times before that this is a must-do, especially if you have children, and we certainly were not disappointed by the colorful arrangements and beautiful details. 

Every year beginning at the end of November until the first days of January, the Point Defiance Zoo displays about 600,000 lights arranged in 3D displays ranging from single figures to entire scenes. While you take a stroll, you can enjoy the colorful displays and listen to Christmas music playing around the zoo. Let your kids have fun on the camel ride or on the beautiful carousel and warm yourself up with a hot, steamy chocolate. If you're still cold after that, visiting the inside Aquarium is a great option!



This year, the Zoolights hours lasted from 5 pm - 9 pm and the prices ranged from $5.00 to $10.00 (depending on if you were a zoo member and where you bought the tickets). The Defiance Zoo also offers combo passes and free admission for children under 2 years. Having plenty of free parking available helped to start our night without stress.
